“A soothing afternoon and a lukewarm tea losing itself to a day that was going to turn fruitless was turned upside down when we three were hit by a mutual idea—an idea that can make a history. How often does that happen to us? Not much. And when that rarest idea was conceived a strange current of enthusiasm filled us.
What was the idea?
Nepal is a fertile land and a developing nation in a true sense.
We might not have seen so much of infrastructural development but unlike
anything technology has really bloomed in Nepal. It’s a spring of technological
development. Every person has a smart device, smart this and smart that. We
browse life at 3G speed. Every pulse in life counts. Time has really become a
currency.
All of us, the three founders, are students of commerce which
helped us map down how much Nepali market thrives for an exemplary and
affordable Brand in clothing sector.
Turning idea into action was a very difficult task. At first, we registered our company with the name Onthemill Pvt Ltd. We started accumulating stock by importing branded goods from abroad. And then we established a store of our own and started dealing with retailers from there. But something was missing.

Inflation was the only hurdle that would discourage the idea that
we had. Inflation created by practice and prejudices Nepali consumers should
not have been troubled by. We wanted to establish direct relationship with the
consumers. That is when the idea of internet marketing came into our minds.
Our experience of living out of Nepal introduced us to scope of
Online Marketing. We went to different places from school to colleges to
welcoming homes while fighting the chilling cold of Kathmandu with
questionnaires to explore what consumers really want and the answer was
unanimous: ‘A Pristine Brand Value at an affordable price’.
Nepal has internet. Nepal has market. Nepal has consumers. What
Nepal didn’t have was a high speed, reliable, user friendly and easily
navigable shopping website that sold internationally recognized brands in
affordable price. We created ‘onthemill.com’ to offer the country
what it truly deserves-- a high speed, reliable, user friendly and easily
navigable shopping website that sold internationally recognized brands in
